Chris Froome and Peter Sagan Join Israel Start-Up Nation
Former Tour de France Champion Froome Seeks Revival
Sagan Signs for Two Years
Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome and three-time world champion Peter Sagan have joined Israel Start-Up Nation, the team announced on Tuesday.
Froome, 36, has struggled to regain his previous form since a career-threatening crash in 2019. He left Team Ineos at the end of last season and has been linked with a move to Israel Start-Up Nation for several months.
Sagan, 32, has signed a two-year contract with the Israeli team. He is one of the most successful riders in the sport, having won 12 Tour de France stages, seven world championships, and the Tour of Flanders three times.
The signing of Froome and Sagan is a major coup for Israel Start-Up Nation, which is aiming to become one of the top teams in the world.
Froome is believed to be the highest-paid rider in the peloton, earning an estimated €6 million a year.
