Toronto Blue Jays Dealing Turner to Mariners

Former Los Angeles Dodgers fan favorite Justin Turner is on the move again, with multiple reports indicating that he is being traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Seattle Mariners. Turner, a third baseman, spent nine seasons with the Dodgers from 2014 to 2022, becoming a key part of their success during that time.

In his time with the Dodgers, Turner hit .296 with a .375 on-base percentage and a .490 slugging percentage for a wRC+ of 137. He also hit 162 home runs and drove in 632 runs in 993 games. Turner signed with the Boston Red Sox last year and slashed .276/.345/.455 for a wRC+ of 114 in 162 games.

The Dodgers had expressed interest in re-signing Turner this offseason, but he ultimately decided to sign a two-year deal with the Mariners. The deal is reportedly worth $34 million and includes a club option for a third year.
