Animal sanctuary desperately appealed for assistance

Kindhearted community funded relocation

Pigs have been saved from a grim future after the animal sanctuary that housed them made a desperate appeal for help. The sanctuary, called Edgar's Mission, is located in rural Victoria and is home to around 100 pigs. It made a public appeal for assistance last week, saying that they were struggling to keep up with the costs of feeding and caring for the animals.

In an emotional public appeal, the founder of the sanctuary, Pam Ahern, said: "We're at our wit's end. We're struggling to feed and care for them. We need help."

The sanctuary launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $20,000. The campaign quickly went viral, and within a few days, it had raised over $30,000. The sanctuary also received donations of food, blankets, and other supplies.

The sanctuary was able to use the money to purchase a new truck and trailer, which they are using to transport the pigs to a new home. The pigs will be relocated to a larger sanctuary in New South Wales. The team at Edgar’s Mission are incredibly grateful for the public’s support.

“We are so relieved and grateful for the community’s support,” said Ahern. “We couldn’t have done this without them.”
